Privacy Policy

ClarityGoals is built to be useful, not invasive.

Last updated: January 11, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how ClarityGoals LLC (“ClarityGoals,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the ClarityGoals mobile app and related services (together, the “Service”). We wrote this in plain language on purpose. If something feels unclear, email us and we’ll help.

1) The short version

We collect the information we need to run the Service, keep it reliable and secure, support you, and improve it over time. WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. We share information only when it’s necessary to provide the Service (for example, with trusted vendors who help us host, analyze crashes, or provide customer support), when you ask us to, or when required by law.

2) Information you provide

Depending on how you use the Service, you may provide:

  • Account information (such as your name and email address, if you create an account).

  • Your content in the app (for example: goals, plans, notes, reflections, reminders, tags, and anything else you choose to enter).

  • Communications (for example: emails you send to support, bug reports, or feedback you submit).

3) Information we collect automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Usage and diagnostics (for example: app interactions, feature usage, performance data, and crash logs).

  • Device and app information (for example: device type, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate region).

  • Identifiers (for example: identifiers used to keep the Service working and secure, such as device or installation identifiers).

We use this information mainly to keep the app stable, prevent abuse, and improve performance.

4) Purchases and subscriptions (Apple App Store and Stripe)

If you purchase a subscription through Apple’s in-app purchase system, Apple processes the payment. If you purchase a subscription through the ClarityGoals web app, Stripe processes the payment. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We receive information needed to confirm your subscription status (for example: whether your subscription is active) and process purchase/receipt data to provide access to paid features, prevent fraud, and handle support requests.

5) How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including saving and syncing your data if you use features that require it).

  • Personalize your experience (for example: showing your goals and settings the way you set them).

  • Improve the Service (including debugging, analyzing crashes, and making features better).

  • Communicate with you (for example: account-related messages, support responses, important product or policy updates).

  • Protect the Service and our users (including security, fraud prevention, and enforcing our terms).

  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

6) How we share information

We may share information in these situations:

  • Service Providers. We work with trusted third parties that help us run the Service (for example: cloud hosting/storage, analytics, crash reporting, customer support tools, and email delivery). They are permitted to process information only for us and for the purposes we specify.

  • Legal and Safety. If required by law or if we reasonably believe sharing is necessary to comply with legal process or protect the rights, safety, and security of ClarityGoals, our users, or others.

  • Business Changes. If we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction (subject to appropriate safeguards).

  • With Your Direction. If you ask us to share information (for example, when you choose to export data).

7) What we don’t do

  • We do not sell your personal information!

  • We do not share your personal information for “cross-context behavioral advertising” (in plain terms: we don’t share your data so other companies can target you with ads across different apps or websites).

8) Data retention

We keep information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes (such as maintaining security, complying with legal obligations, and resolving disputes). If you delete your account (or request deletion), we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we’re required or permitted by law to keep it longer (for example: records for compliance, security, or fraud prevention). Backup copies may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.

9) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. Your sensitive data like passwords use strong encryption that even we can't possibly read. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and reduce risk.

10) Your choices and controls

You can typically control certain features in the app (like notifications) through your device settings and in-app settings (if available). You can also request access, correction, export, or deletion of your information by contacting us (see “Contact us” below).

11) Privacy rights (depending on where you live)

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights such as: requesting access to your information; requesting correction or deletion; requesting a copy (portability); and objecting to or restricting certain processing. If you want to exercise a right, contact us. We may need to verify your request to protect your information. If you believe we’ve mishandled your information, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a relevant privacy regulator.

12) Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13) International users

If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country. We take steps designed to ensure an appropriate level of protection where required.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by posting an update in the app or on this page). The “Last updated” date shows when this policy was most recently revised.
